Your Sight Test        Click to Enlarge

When you see the Opticians here they will conduct a series of test to check the level of your sight as well as assessing the health of your eyes. They will also be asking you questions about recent sight problems you may have had and any previous history in your family.

Using different instruments the Optician will examine the interior of the eye to assess the condition of it, and check the muscular balance as well. If you are over the age of 40 years old, or you, or a close member of your family have a condition called Glaucoma then further test will be carried out.

Once the examination is over and you have been given a prescription you will then see a Dispensing Optician who will talk you through what you need in the way of spectacles. In discussion with you and looking at your hobbies, job or sporting activities you will be helped to make a decision on style of frame, type of lenses or contact lenses you require.

Other Tests

From time to time we may need to do further tests. This may include what is known as a field test or another test known as a Heidelberg Tomography.
